Brian Fowler (Artists in Focus No.6)

                                 My friend and colleague Brian Fowler is the featured
                                                            "Artist in Focus".
                                  A ceramicist and painter, he is also a member of the
                                 "Nova Scotia" group (see post of November 2018).

                                                          

                

                                   Following a career in advertising where he specialised in
                                   "branding" of products and services for multinational
                                   companies, along with staging exhibitions and the day to
                                   day running of the agency, he completed a ceramics course
                                                which led to him to pursue this art form.

Brian's other interest is drawing and painting,

from the human form, to paintings, mainly abstract,

that derive from written suggestions or random

"mark making".

"Cactus Flower" - evolution of a painting

                        "Show and tell" time, with some images of how this work evolved.

                         This painting went through a number of stages over a period of days.

                         Like most artists I revisited it, hopefully each time with "fresh eyes"

"Alter Ego - 44AD exhibition"

                    The group exhibition for the Associates of 44AD gallery in Bath had it's
                   private view on Monday last and was well attended. The theme of "Alter
                   Ego"could be a tricky concept for a landscape painter, but I decided that
                   "an alternative life on the Greek islands" was maybe a "get out", and so
                   it proved.
                   My work, consisting of paintings, sketchbook and printed book are on display
                  as the exhibition continues until the 19th. of January.

" Latest exhibition"

              I'm exhibiting some work as part of the "Alter Ego" associates exhibition at
              44AD gallery in Bath, England. The private view is tomorrow (7th. January 6-8pm)
             all welcome. The show will run until the 19th. of  January.
