With foreign travel stopped for the foreseeable future, I've taken the opportunity to re-visit my notebooks and photographs from visits to the Greek islands. Referencing the villages and coastline of Crete I wanted to do some preparatory watercolours to work up possible acrylic paintings in my usual square format.
Incorporating ink and pencil these mixed media works are very quickly executed to keep a spontaneous feel.
