Delighted to be part of this group Winter exhibition showing at the "Heart of the Tribe" gallery in Glastonbury England. I'm showing three paintings here and it will hopefully be put online as a virtual show for those not able to attend.

A new painting inspired from this summer's visits to the Devon and Dorset coasts. As the nights draw in this is a reminder of trips taken to these spectacular regions.
From the village of Platanias lying 10km. West of Chania on the island of Crete the route to Therissos takes in the pretty village of Pervolia and the surrounding orange and olive groves set against the stunning backdrop of the "White Mountains" Through the winding Therisso gorge with it's towering cliffs and wild goats you reach the village of Therissos.
The revolution of Crete and it's reunion with Greece, was started here by Eleftherios Venizelos in the 1896 uprising against the Turks, thereby liberating Crete and installing it's own currency and flag before eventually joining the rest of Greece.
This painting depicts the journey and the landscape featuring the fields in the hot summer sun.

A short break earlier this Summer, staying in the pretty Devon village of Stoke Fleming. I made some sketches in my usual small books with notes of some trips I made and some interesting people I met. With trips to the nearby coast and the River Dart I re- visited the parts of the river especially the Naval Academy and Agatha Christie's house - Greenaway.

I'm delighted to be the featured artist in the "Directory Artists" section on the "Heart of the Tribe" gallery website. The gallery in Glastonbury, Somerset England shows work from artists primarily, but not exclusively, from this part of the U.K.

With the opportunity to exhibit my work being very scarce at the moment due to the pandemic, I've welcomed the series of A-Z online shows with my gallery, 44AD Bath England. The latest theme is responses to the word "QUAINT" and I'm showing a painting from sketches at Combe Grove Hotel , a "quaint English landscape". Other themes that I have contributed too are BETWEEN- ENVELOPED- FLORA JUMP - LOVE and NUANCE all of which are still available on the 44AD website.

With foreign travel stopped for the foreseeable future, I've taken the opportunity to re-visit my notebooks and photographs from visits to the Greek islands. Referencing the villages and coastline of Crete I wanted to do some preparatory watercolours to work up possible acrylic paintings in my usual square format.
