Music and Painting

           I know a number of artists , myself included, get inspiration from certain types of music whilst creating their artwork. I've referenced previously the jazz piano and saxophone of a number of artists many of whom record for the ECM record label. Not only is their catalogue varied , from minimalist jazz to classical/semi classical pieces but the design ethos of the packaging and artwork of the CD's is all part of the ECM "brand".
 Now that music can be accessed in a variety of ways via downloads, streaming etc. the artwork becomes an integral part of the experience in the same way as the sleeves for vinyl albums. Here are two small abstract landscapes inspired by the music and titles from a recent album by the British saxophonist Andy Sheppard  (see previous post for "The Pushy Doctors").
